There are not many distinctions between baseball and softball. But, in some countries, softball is considered to be the game which is played by women, and baseball is the game played by the man.

Like baseball, there are also pitcher and batter in softball. But for the pitcher, there are some rules which need to be followed such as both hand should be touch the ball and both feet must be on the pitcher’s rubber. And, in softball the pitcher must not throw the ball overhand because all the balls should be thrown underhand, especially the fast ball. For the batter, she/he will be disqualified if he/she does not stand properly on the batter box. Then, when he/she misses all the three strikes, he/she will be out automatically. And all the balls which are on the outside of the first and third baselines are considered to be the foul balls. The batter will be the runner after he/she hit the ball and run for the base. If in the middle oh his/her running a baseman touches her/him with the ball, runner will be out.

The innings in the softball is different from the innings in the baseball. There are only 7 innings in this game.
