Soccer is a sport which is widely played in the whole world. People from children to adult love this sport game and they are now gladly welcoming the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, a soccer tournament which is held once in four year. This tournament was first held in Uruguay at 1930 with 13 nations took part in the tournament.

With the spirit of world cup which will be begun soon, let’s try to understand and learn about soccer a little bit deeper. Everybody knows that this game is played by two teams. Each team consists of 10 players and 1 goal keeper. The game will be led by a referee who has the right to punish the players who make fouls inside the field by giving them yellow card or red card. In soccer, the game is controlled by period, 90 minutes and it is separated into two halves. It means 45 minutes for each with the maximum of 5 minutes for the injury time. The score will be made b a team if the ball can break the enemy’s net. It is called as “GOAL”.

For some people, soccer is just a game in which people are chasing the ball. But for some others, this game is the game of true competition.
